Changes in the Alternatives for High-Risk Youth Program

The Alternatives for High-Risk Youth Program is changing.  We thank Idalia Argueta- Abarca for her years of service as the Coordinator of this program.  CRISPAZ is shifting its focus from direct programming to the accompaniment of the issues facing youth in El Salvador.   We will continue to work towards a culture of peace by accompanying and maintaining relationships with youth programs in El Salvador and will partner with organizations whose youth leadership and vision contribute to creating alternatives to violence or gang involvement. 

We are grateful to Colette Hellenkamp and Megan Horton, two long term volunteers who serve with community youth organizations.  We would especially like to recognize Colette’s key role in the programming and coordination of the youth program’s work for the two years she has been with CRISPAZ and wish her luck as she moves on to work for Equipo Naul.
