The CRISPAZ long-term volunteer opportunity provides participants a unique 18-month sojourn in solidarity with the people of El Salvador. Whether working with inner-city youth in the San Salvador neighborhood of Mejicanos or assisting in a micro-loan projects in La Libertad, we are able to place our long-term volunteers(LTVs) in meaningful and rewarding positions. Following orientation with CRISPAZ staff, our LTVs are placed in locations and programs that match their interest, whether that be social work, medical or nursing work, agricultural development. Placements are made through CRISPAZ partners such as FECORACEN, a cooperative that works with 22 rural communities throughout the heartland of El Salvador; the parish of San Francisco program, managed by the Passionist Priests from Spain; and educational programs sponsored by the Society of Jesus. Our long-term volunteers participate in work that goes to the very core of CRISPAZ's mission: since 1984, volunteers have walked hand-in-hand with the poor and dispossessed of rural El Salvador, a tradition we continue to honor through our LTVs.
