Volunteer Opportunities with OIKOS Solidarity:

Organic Agriculture
If you have experience in organic agriculture and are interested in working closely with Salvadoran farmers, this opportunity is for you! Our partner organization, OIKOS Solidarity is looking for an agricultural volunteer to work in their Food Security Program. This individual would collaborate with local farmers to implement organic technology and pest management in the department of San Miguel in the municipalities of San Rafael Oriente, Jucuaran, and Concepción Batres.

Hydrology
Are you a hydrologist or do you have academic experience or professional training in water management or natural disaster risk management? OIKOS Solidarity is looking for a hydrologist with experience in water management from a perspective of environmental recuperation. This individual would work in their Ecological Risk Management Program, implementing actions suggested by the different investigations OIKOS carries out in the El Transito basin, and on the Southern slope of the Chaparrastique Volcano.

Community Organizing
Are you a community organizer with experience in advocacy? Would you like to work to strengthen community-based initiatives in rural Salvadoran villages? OIKOS Solidarity is looking for a volunteer to work in their Active Citizenship Program. This individual would work in San Miguel with focus groups of local leaders on issues of environmental advocacy in coordination with the training school run by the intergovernmental Rio Grande Organization.

Volunteer Opportunities with UNES:

Territorial Planning/Geology
Do you have professional training or academic experience in Territorial Planning or Geology? Our partner organization, the Salvadoran Ecological Union (UNES), is looking for a volunteer with experience resolving social conflicts in territorial management. This individual must be wiling to work in a team and eager to train Salvadoran staff in territorial planning.
