The Citizen’s Network on Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs)
La Red Ciudadana Frente a los Transgénicos en El Salvador (The Salvadoran Citizen’s Network on Genetically Modified Organisms, or GMOs) is a multi-sector initiative in which 18 civil society organizations participate. The network includes field experts, small farmers, consumers, environmentalists, indigenous people, universities, and groups that work with early childhood education, health, and community development. This coordination initiative began in 2001 to promote national advocacy work through analysis, debate, resistance, and alternatives in the face of the effects that GMO’s have on health, food security, and the environment.
