We would like to invite you to join CRISPAZ on a special delegation:
CRISPAZ Women-to-Women Encounter to El Salvador: March 4-11, 2006
Dear Friends,
In observance of International Women's Day, I will be working with CRISPAZ, Christians for Peace in El Salvador (www.crispaz.org) to organize a Women-to-Women Delegation to El Salvador March 4-11, 2006. The delegation is still in the planning phases until we have group confirmation but below is a list of possible activities and issues that will be explored:
• Visit Pro-busqueda, an organization that reunites families separated by the war.
• Meet with Flor de Piedra an education and advocacy organization for sex workers.
• Meet with women members of MOJE in Ilobasco to learn about their experience in gangs and as young women in a violent society.
• Meeting with women's groups in parishes, groups that work with victims of domestic abuse, organizations working on women's reproductive health.
• Visit women's craft cooperative
• Meet with women from the Salvadoran Textile Industry Workers Union and visit Just Garments (a sweat-free factory).
• Visit a rural community with a dynamic women's group/organization.

The cost is $85 a night which includes ground transportation, room and board, interpretation/translation and accompaniment by a CRISPAZ staff member. Airfare is not included. Once we have some initial confirmations we can begin looking at group rates for airfare. The cost of the trip in this case would be $595. We require a $50 deposit per person to officially reserve the dates and it is due 3 months before the arrival date.
We are planning early because we really want the delegation to be a success. The group will be made up of multi-sector/interfaith women. I would like to get some idea of initial interest or commitment as early as possible. Please let me know if you would like to participate or if you have any questions. Likewise, please pass this along to any other individuals or groups you think would have interest.
