People of Hope Crafts

The People of Hope Crafts is a non-profit division of the 501©3 organization Project Salvador.

Project Salvador supports a network of 20 artisan cooperatives throughout El Salvador through the sales and marketing of fair trade crafts in the United States . We are committed to paying fair wages and establishing sustainable livelihoods.

Upon inception of the program 20 years ago, the artisans received cost analysis training. The artisans take in to consideration the cost of the material, the time to produce each item and most importantly what they need to get paid for each product to live a financially sustainable livelihood. The price The People of Hope pay for hand-crafted treasures is well above a minimum wage and at a living wage.
